In 2024 our entry into the Eastern Ontario Drama League's one-act play festival was Trapper. This is a thriller written by NGCT's very own President. This was the first full stage production of this play.
The one-act play festival had several sessions with a total of nine plays. Ours was in the first session, the evening of Friday, November 1.
This production received two full awards for NGCT, and two nominations:
- The "Peterborough Theatre Guild Award: Adjudicator's Award" to the Churchill (extended) family
- The "Colin Mawson Award: Outstanding Contribution by a Student" to Dominic Churchill
- The "Mae Carmichael Award: Acting" NOMINATION (not the award) to Kevin Cockell
- The "Rural Root Theatre Company Award: Best Production of a New Canadian Play" NOMINATION (not the award) to Trapper by Steve Wendt
